Dear Congress, It's No Longer OK To Not Know How The Internet Works →
Iowa Representative Steve King tweeted, somewhat ironically, about surfing the internet on his phone because he was bored listening to his colleague Shiela Jackson speak about the [SOPA]. Then, even more ironically, another representative’s comments calling him out for it were asked to be stricken from the record.
The only thing I know about this is that it’s strangely awesome.

I’ve previously posted items about the batshit crazy antics of Texas governor Rick Perry (here and here), but apparently he’s not the only one. A handful (or rather, a few handfuls) of elected officials feel that their place is not to act on behalf of the people they represent, but rather to act in a manner which they believe represent god’s will.
Prepare to see some of my artwork getting a bit more political in the near future.

I normally don’t throw out curses online very frequently… but this is absofuckinglutely batshit crazy. First TX governor Perry proclaimed statewide days of prayer for rain, and now this??? I seriously hope no taxpayer money is going towards any aspect of this…

Office of the Governor Rick Perry [Proclamation] Gov. Perry Issues Proclamation for Days of Prayer for Rain in Texas →
NOW, THEREFORE, I, RICK PERRY, Governor of Texas, under the authority vested in me by the Constitution and Statutes of the State of Texas, do hereby proclaim the three-day period from Friday, April 22, 2011, to Sunday, April 24, 2011, as Days of Prayer for Rain in the State of Texas.
No comment (and by no comment, I mean… basically, WTF?)

I’ll forgo the netspeak euphemisms and come straight out and ask “What the fuck?!?” Fortunately, I’m not the only one who finds this ad horribly offensive/terrifying/ill-advised.

This advertisement bothered me in so many ways, I had to post it. I know, I’m a sad person.
